FOUR LANTERNS WINERY HISTORY
Four Lanterns Winery resides on 35 acres on the west side of Paso Robles in the formidable Willow Creek AVA. This area, renowned for hot days, cool nights and soil riddled with calcareous stone, provides a perfect environment for making exceptional wines.
The property was originally terraced for an apple farm in the early 1900's. In the late 1970s and early 1980s the property was revitalized with the creation of Sycamore Farms - an herb farm and vineyard.
In addition to Picpoul Blanc, Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Mourvedre, Clairette Blanche, and Ugni Blanc, the vineyard boasts 30 year old Viognier and Syrah vines.
Jackie and Steve Gleason purchased the property in 2013. In addition to expanding and improving the vineyard, they created Four Lanterns Winery (named for their four daughters). They completed construction of the production facility in August of 2016, just in time for harvest. This addition enables their wines to be estate grown and produced. Their family home located in the Templeton Gap is the location of Jackie's Vineyard, featuring Bordeaux varietals.
Four Lanterns Winery specializes in wine varietals native to France's Rhone Valley & Bordeaux region. They focus on making estate wines in order to capitalize on the natural strengths of the vineyard. The resulting wines are beautifully complex, balanced, and wonderful to drink.
